Commissioned to acknowledge and celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, the Centenary Theatre promotes the significant and broad ranging work of the Taronga Conservation Society Australia. The 160-seat capacity building houses a 270-degree lecture theatre showcases a range of natural materials including external timber batten which wraps around the façade to form a stunning new centrepiece. Internally, the theatre has sections of permanent and open space/floor, allowing visitors to view animals in the natural world in exciting new ways, emphasising the Zoo’s ongoing focus on the conservation of wildlife and environmental sustainability.
